I have been reading a book called " Learning to read and write in the multicultural Family" by Xiao-Lei Wang and I am consideri g some of the ideas explained on the book
Creating a Portfolio of Clara's language evolution looks like an interesting idea. I could keep her first drawing and sketches of first writings. So she could see how she is actually progressing. she could also as the author of the books suggests , choose which items should be included in her portfolio. Recordings of her oral and reading skills could also be a good idea for her to be involved in her learning process.
The second idea suggested in the book is to design a clear and revisable planning of what we want our kids to learn. It should include aim, activities, and assessment.I have to say that I haven't before thought about assessment(obviously not grading in a formal way, but checking in everyday life situations if she has in fact learnt what we had planned to)...so this is something I will consider

Half year,...where is Bubu?
Half Year ...Where is Bubu ?
So far I keep on reading to Clara some of her books each morning(it is the first thing we do after having breakfast) and I read loud some of my books(now I am reading to hear short bits of The book Scottish Fairy Tales)...I have started reading poetry so from the book Read Aloud Rhymes for the very Young by Jack Prelutsky I have grouped some poems in categories(good morning/good night/funny stories/ bath time/ weather) and Ihave created more posters which I have hung around. We read the good morning poems in the morning and the good night ones Before going to bed.
Clara turns her head when we call her name, she is happy when she seesher wodden yellow car and sometimes turns her head looking for our dog when we ask her "Where is BubĂș?"

Posters and visual aid
I have read that using posters can help language development. So I decided to hang a poster on colours and shapes near Clara's changing mat. She has been quite interested on it and I have on one or two colours and forms since I hang it.
I have also created a poster with some summer vocabulary
I keep on reading books but I have started reading some new titles(Giraffes can't dance)to refresh my monologues.
Finally I have created a poster for me with some words I use when cooking that it was hard for me to remember when I explain Clara what I am cooking and how.

Mother's day
It is my first mother's day.Clara was born almost 3 months ago and everything has been wonderful since she arrived.Long before that day me and my husband decided that I would speak to her in English which is my third language(I speak Catalan,Spanish and a bit of German too)and my husband would speak Catalan to her.Other relatives would talk Spanish to her.
The aim of this blog is just to create a record for Clara of her progression and a way for me to become aware of her hopefully daily progress.
I don't have a clear idea how I will record that progression but so far I will include two sections
My progression
I have read books on bilingualism
I have been talking to her in English everyday since she was born(in fact I have been talking to her in English since I got pregnant which I think has made it easier to do when she arrived)
I have been reading to her for 15 minutes in English everyday
I have started creating her English Library
I play some background and we sing or exercises on her mat
Clara's progression
She patiently listens to my everyday reading
She has started to cooing and sometimes has tried to imitate the intonation of my sentences
